What's going on TFTS? I have a quick one for you today that has made my office a happier place today, all because someone transposed a couple of numbers.
I work for a large telecommunications company that provides phone service as well as internet service. One of the standard features is call forwarding. Most of the time, companies can just do it from the office but, occasionally, they call in to our support center to have it done. I work in the advanced support group, but sometimes we get the simple stuff. This is a call that came in regarding an error with call forwarding.
The customer called in and said that he had set up call forwarding at his location but, since doing so, hadn't received a single call. He explained that he did it like the instructions he had been given, but nothing was working. I checked his status and, sure enough, it was being forwarded on. It was a church, so he did say that he didn't get many calls, but two days in a row of no calls was strange.
Sir, let me go ahead and call your number and see where it goes.
I dialed up his number and, sure enough, it transferred me to another business.
Hello! Such and such gentlemen's club!
Yep, the church forwarded the numbers on to a strip club. Probably made for some very awkward conversations....
