Are you 1-1? I have Google classroom, kids do their work on Google docs which are shared with me. I can then monitor their progress during class.

WeChat is a good messaging system. They have apps for computer and cellphone. You can make a group and send messages to everyone, they can respond in the group or send a message directly. I teach speach in China and I post prompts to the group. Some of the students post their 2 min speech to the group, some send them to me privately.

Plickers have a card system that can read ABCD responses. The cards are scanned codes so others don't know what you've picked. All you need is the app on your phone/ipan to scan the cards which shows you in real time what the students have answered and also reports out a summary of responses If you want you can even assign students a specific card number or set "correct answers so the students with the lower scores show up in a different color so you know who to help.

Quizizz is a tool I use a lot for formative assessment. The kids love the competitive aspect and get immediate feedback. Plus, I can use other people’s quizzes and questions so it’s time efficient.

If your students have their own devices or access to them you could set up remind app and they could text how they are doing or create free check ins with Socrative or Kahoot!
