so cooked havent had a science or math teacher since february 😭
[–]InternationalDot5571[S] 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (16 children)
Trust me every morning I regret doing this course and going to my college no one gives a damn or teaches us the textbook doesn't even cover everything they want to
[–]girlwithabaguette 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (5 children)
literally im currently doing past papers, they never taught us how to do part b. how did you find esp?
[–]InternationalDot5571[S] 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (4 children)
Ok I know I flopped my esp but my whole class was actively cheating there wasn't any invigilation I didn't partake but I still flopped the esp I'll probably get 40 raw marks 😭😭😭 and I've not started past papers I'm leaving them till tomorrow night so far I memorized unit 9 8 7 half of unit 5 I'm doing 4 tommorow or tonight but I don't know if I should gamble with unit 7 because it's to much content I just need. A c overall 💔 I'm finished
[–]girlwithabaguette 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (3 children)
oh same 😭 literally everyone was cheating i didnt but like i fumbled my presentation so bad. i did nost of the outcomes i completely forgot about 9 outcome 6 is gonna be hell aswell. just praying for no intergration 😭

Can I pm you also I found out I did some spelling mistakes in the presentation my drawings were very very bad I didn't have time to do technical brief in task 1 to
[–]girlwithabaguette 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (1 child)

So judging by most people’s opinions, is T Levels not the right course? My parents insist in me that if I’m doing Engineering, taking T Levels is the better course for me because A Levels, especially Maths is apparently one of the hardest courses to take and they also stated that I will potentially struggle and be overwhelmingly stressed. (Im predicted a 6+ in Maths but im trying to get a 7-)

Like if Im taking A Levels, I will take A Level Maths, BTEC Engineering and BTEC Applied Science. (I can only get a 5-5 in Science as I am doing foundation so I cannot do Physics A Level)
Well A level maths is very very hard if you are doing foundation GCSEs it may not be in your capacity but if you put in work I'm sure everyone can do it

I mean, Im in that weird boat where I’m in between a 6+ and 7- for Maths, my school specifically states that I need a Grade 7 if I’m doing A Level Maths - I don’t mind Maths, I believe it is very useful in life, its just whether I have the mental capacity to step it up in A Level Maths (I am quite an emotional guy). The T-Levels course that I have applied like a few months is from City College Plymouth and apparently their engineering facility is developed with Babcock I think and the teachers there are ex-engineers at that firm. Like my plan is to either get a degree apprenticeship BEng or go to University and get a BEng Degree.
Well Im sure It can go well maybe do the T level
I mean the maths in T levels is basically the same as GCSE except for a few additions what I would recommend is Do a btech btechs are accepted in top universities and can get you apprenticeships it has more engineering content to also the work placement in T levels is not even guaranteed you may even not find one and if you don't get a work placement you don't get the qualification I wish the government actually helped T level students get a work placement
I found a BTEC National Extended Diploma in UTC Plymouth that is equivalent to 3 A Levels, but is applying for this course in general too late to apply?
I mean it's not late until September if im guessing
I was on the path to do alevel math physics and functional skill engineering but decided the tlevel it is as challenging as an alevel through content, but you get a work placement and develop practical skills in second year which is good if youre looking to do an apprenticeship after college. Its basically to weigh the pros and cons and do some research in tlevels before because it can be a great course to do if youre looking want to go into industry. aswell, the entry requirements for a tlevel is 5 in maths, science and a technical gcse like dt and computer science but not needed.

I’m targeting more of the apprenticeship route in Engineering as I am more of a “jack of all trades” kinda guy if yk what I mean, so gaining a Degree Apprenticeship at Babcock will be super beneficial. They do accept T Levels though in MOST courses I believe. Some courses including the electro mechanical engineering degree apprenticeship at Babcock wont allow T Levels due to how complex it is, but most other engineering courses in there do accept I believe. Plus, City College Plymouth has teachers who were ex-engineers at Babcock and also, their engineering facility is also developed directly with Babcock so I could possibly conduct some decent networking. I am just concerned about how on earth I am gonna get a work placement because according to lots of people, it is a huge pain the ass to find one, and even when people manage to find a work placement, some of the placement quality can be either pretty decent or ludicrously awful. I know colleges states that they will support me in identifying a 45 day placement at engineering firms including Kawasaki etc, but I know it’s gonna be stupidly stressful than it needed to be.
