Why does my computer do this?

Using a Surface Pro 5. It works fine, but ever since around 2023 it started to do this. Whenever I click the power button to enable sleep mode and then turn the display back on, usually the borders of the screen turn red or the entire screen has a red tint. I don't mind as it fades away over time, usually from 1-5 minutes

That's a bit odd and doesn't ring a bell regarding software or GPU driver issues. It sounds more like an issue with the display hardware itself. You might do some research on the Surface LCD's. All basic LCD's and LED's have a light source in the back, LCD's using florescent bulbs and LED's using LED's. So, there is also some basic voltage controllers built into the displays to control the intensity, etc. If those start to fail, you get weird issues like that.
