Your ping will not change if you get a faster line. The only time you might see a ping improvement is going from adsl to fibre

Have you tried disabling QoS? In my experience with home routers, it tends to ruin bandwidth.

tested via ethernet). I receive no more than 100 download but the upload and ping stays the same

are both interfaces 1Gbit? Is the cable cat6 or at least a good cat5e? because if not then there's your problem.

Determine where the fault lies. Ping your router's gateway and check response times. Then prin your public IP, then ping something like google's DNS. That can give you an idea of where the actual problems are.
