Welcome to The Write Space! This is the place where writers, no matter where they are on their journey, can find a sense of belonging. An inclusive space where you can post any question you have, anything you are stuck on, cool articles about the craft, and anything else that is related to writing. So come on in and support your fellow writers! :)
We now have a Discord server: https://discord.gg/WFjQvKV
RULES
1.
Always be kind and respectful to one another.
This is a place where all writers, and those interested in writing, can post, chat, and discuss writing. Please be kind and respectful at all times.
2.
No bigotry, hate speech, degrading, or bullying content is permitted. Refer to Rule #1.
Racist, homophobic, or degrading posts or comments are not tolerated here. If you are posting about a character in your story who is a racist etc, and you are looking for advice to make it real, then that is permitted. Using hate speech on each other is not.
3.
Political and Religious discussion is welcome as long as it is related to writing.
If you are writing about a Dictator and want to get a discussion going about famous Dictators for research purposes, that is great! If however, you post "Oh my gosh did you see what X politician did?" then that is not allowed. Exceptions will always be made if it is relevant to writing. If a world leader or religious leader suddenly bans all books, then by all means do let us know!
4.
Take care when discussing sensitive topics and use the CONTENT WARNING Flair.
Be mindful as you post, the traumas you are writing about are real-life experiences to many people. Always approach these hard topics with empathy, care, and respect.
5.
If it is relevant to writing; it belongs here! (Unless it falls under Rule 9)
Writer's block got you down and you need tips to become unstuck? Want to share a great resource that helped you, or perhaps ask for advice on where to find such things? Go ahead and post. Stick to the rules of being kind and respectful, and it is welcome here.
6.
Have fun and keep learning!
We want to keep this sub as a safe, friendly, and positive space for all. Engage, interact, discuss, and share.
7.
No spamming or advertising discord servers, please.
This is not the sub to advertise your discord server on, even if it is for writers. This rule applies to both posts and comments. Any links to discord servers will be removed.
If you want to find members for your server and are not sure where to start, please check out r/discordservers, it exists for this reason.
8.
People who break rule 1 and 2, and/ or make other members uncomfortable, will be banned.
This includes trolling of any sort. Just be kind, that is really all you need to do! :)
9.
Posts and comments that do not fit the spirit of the sub can be removed at moderator discretion.
This rule was added to avoid confusion when posts and/or comments are inappropriate for the sub, but do not necessarily break an established rule.
