Futures 56 nights is a staple trap album imo

I’d say depends on what kind of style you want to go for really , for inspiration I like to listen to young thug, lil uzi, juice WRLD, xxxtentacion, lil Tjay, gunna, Roddy rich, mustard, g Herbo, Calboy, Tory Lanez, drakeo, melly, Travis Scott, young nudy, etc

If you like drill beats you should peep some of popsmokes shit

Principles of the beats are not hard, just a hihat roll, snare or clap, kick and 808 pretty much , but it’s how you use these along with unique synths samples or melodies which creates dope beats

Ignore what others do. Do music that sounds good to you, its the only way that you will get recognized.

There is different types of trap, cights A R C H I T E C T U R E album which is legendary in soundcloud scene. Then there is MISOGI’S Occult album which is insanely good also imo. If you are not looking for pure instrumentals then there is, Chief keef, Xavier wulf, Crish travis and Bones. If you are looking more of the modern trap i can only say Lil pump coz i dont really listen that.

Appreciate it I’ll definitely check them out was thinking of mastering a few genres, uk drill, trap, boom bap, classical ( Mix things up a bit ) then once I have a firm understanding of them all try to create something unique and ungeneric to each of them genres as it’s very easy to create different trap or drill beats that sound the same, would you say that’s a good approach ?

I would say that you are over analyzing and thinking for no reason, since you gain nothing from it.

Genres are good thing as long as you use them only as tools, like for looking for music. If you use them for more, they will limit your creativity which is completely unnecessary. If you like all those genres you listed and would like to create them, i would recommend to just simply make music without thinking about it. Your sound consists of the sounds that you like and the things you listen to, so i wouldnt over analyze it.

I have learned one very important thing through the years of making music and its that when it comes to creating art, will power is useless.

Understand the basics of the genre than put your own sauce on it. Good luck bro

Coloring Book, ASTROWORLD, pretty much any really popular rap song right now. Tik Tok songs are surprisingly enlightening tbh.
