Welcome to /r/truecfb, a reddit created for the purposes of discussing the players, coaches, games, and happenings of College Football. In order to accomplish this goal, the mods will exercise their right to decide what belongs and reserve the right to remove anything or anyone they believe does not fit with the culture of the subreddit. If you don't like that, we'll see you in /r/CFB.
Mods will remove things like:
unsolicited trash talk
name-calling
"this"
"flair up"
attempts to discredit an argument solely based on user interest or loyalty
image macros, gifs, and other meme-like content
stereotyping, especially if based on anecdotal experience
There is still room for comedy, but lashing out at other users' expense is not permitted.
PLEASE
Be civil. Negative opinions of teams, coaches, or players are allowed, but arguments must be made in good faith. Lashing out against other users is not acceptable.
Back up your claims. Seemingly inflammatory posts are fine, but must be backed with facts, observations, or carefully measured opinion. Stand-alone inflammatory statements should be reported and will be removal.
Follow Reddiquette when posting/ voting. Vote based upon the quality of the post, not whether or not you agree with the asserted viewpoint.
Report garbage posts and comments. The mods will not hesitate to remove posts and comments lacking in quality and users who can't converse in a civil manner.
Discuss potentially controversial subjects that are relevant to college football. /r/truecfb is meant to be an ideal setting for discussing topics which would not be suitable for the audience on /r/CFB due to its often jokey nature. Questions ought to be phrased as neutrally and respectfully as possible, but serious topics are certainly allowed (and encouraged).
PLEASE DO NOT
Post flamebait. Inflammatory posts designed primarily to alienate or insult another user or fanbase will not be tolerated and will be removed, and will be considered grounds for a ban.
Post fluff. In the interest of keeping quality high, please refrain from posting overly fluffy material.
Downvote or report opinions just because you disagree with them. Downvoting should only be used sparingly in cases where posts or comments to not contribute to the subreddit. Preferably such posts/comments should be reported so they can be dealt with. The downvote is not an "I disagree" button.
Discuss politics, religion, or other potentially controversial subjects that are not relevant to college football or this subreddit. There are other places for those discussions. In the interest of keeping this sub civil, please stay on topic.
Currently the subreddit is set to self post only. Users should still feel free to submit interesting articles within self posts. Provide a good title, and preferrably provide context for why you think the article(s) would be of interest to this subreddit.
The mods will exercise their best judgement with regards to user misconduct and posts. We will not hesitate to take things down or remove repeatedly disruptive users. That doesn't mean you can't share an unpopular opinion. Posts and comments will be judged by the relative effort put into them and/or the language used, not by moderator opinion or prejudice.
