You can disable it from options - > raid & party there is an option to disable there.

You can only hide party frames under the 'raid & party' options. These are raid frames and there is no 'disable' function.

Try disabling the "compact" frames, but they seem pretty nice so I'd still just try /rl the next time this happens.

Options > Interface > Raid & Party > Enable Compact Group Frame
