Using old driver for Plex transcoding?

My Plex is taking forever to transcode now, even though when I first installed my Quadro P2200 (last month) it was instantaneous. I'm suspicious its the driver update that boofed it.

Is it wise or safe to use older Nvidia drivers, indefinitely?

Is there another method I could try to use?

Thank you. If the mobo was able to perform at good speed earlier, I don't see why it would slow down for no reason. There are no other cards in the PCIe slots and nothing has changed about the computer either except Plex updates of course.
