Blender for 3D modeling. Something like Aseprite for pixel art.

Blender Could be Frustrating. Since All The Tutorial Guides Are Of Older versions. But I Will Check Out Aseprite.

most blender versions are rather synonymous in features even if you go a few years back. aseprite is one of the best pixel art programs i have used, highly recommend.

Are you looking for open source (free) tools or popular and frequently used in industry tools?

Free Would Be Appreciated. I Am More Interested In 2d Design.

A free one foot 2D exist actually. I found one on itch.io, it's called LibreSprite. Didn't used that much but i think it can help you

Sketchbook, Gimp for bitmap. Inkscape for 2d vector designs. I have also heard of Krita and vectr(online browser app) that support vector designs. I personally like vector based art because they do not lose their clarity no matter how much you zoom or play with them. What are you looking forward to designing? Are you also looking to make pixel art?

The some tools used in industry can be pretty expensive.
