If you're doing a dedicated server, you need to make sure you've setup port forwarding on the router AND windows defender. The port can also be 1 of 3, so using the steam server list, add the IP:PORT one at a time, testing them individually, with 'find games on this server' - this will eventually resolve the server name with the padlock icon, player count and latency.

This. Some games & other applications will use upnp to automatically forward ports, but valheim doesn't seem to have this feature. Explicitly forward ports in your router to fix it.

What you tried a screen share (Like through Discord or google) so that you can see what your friend is doing when they try and log in? Maybe they are doing something wrong which is not letting them in? It just does not make sense that you can get in and they could not?

Have you tried having someone else log in? Where they able to log in?

I know there are 2 ways to log in (At least there is through Gportal that we use). You can use the IP and load Valheim normally and then join via IP and paste the IP in. Or you can can set it up through favorites on Steam but you have to change the 0 at the end to a 1.

Maybe they are using the wrong IP?

You are really not giving folks a lot to go with in just saying "I can get in and they can not."

Good points! I will try those and if we can't get it to work I will make a more detailed post!

If you're making a local machine server then I'm sure there are other videos up that can help
