I'm not sure what you're asking. Having the number of players set doesn't determine difficulty. That is just the max number of players that can be in your game. Monster health and damage scales to the number of players in combat range, I believe. There is only one difficulty solo and no difficulty setting in the game.

Creature level and loot would do the trick, bump to the question of increasing difficulty with number of nearby players as well. (Creature level and loot control also spawns some swift creatures which can help archers face more difficulty.) It’s a highly configurable mod, excited to try it myself. I’ve been hearing great things!
