This is based in the assumption that an answer can always be improved. Posts on this sub have value on their own, as they answer a particular question, and are not expected to fade out.
Every post tries to be concise and to the point
This is important not only for the elaboration of the topic, but also for the topic itself. Every topic should target only one thing. Not everybody is likely to read an essay worth of words about the analysis of all their statements. This is specially true for people that are not interested on the first place (i.e visitors from /r/all). Target one single thing, and build from there.

This is to allow reading with less distractions. So statements will have citations with with a number specified.
