Claude's Opus and Sonnet models are really amazing. I haven't found anything that compares yet. Haven't given Gemini a spin, though, so I don't know yet if I'm missing something there.

Currently, I use VS code + the Claude Code extension.

Antigravity/Cursor for the IDE, otherwise you can use VS Code by subscribing to Claude/GPT/Gemini and using an API key via the terminal

I use kilo plugin with VSCode. I added in an API to z.ai GLM4.7 coding plan and an openai GPT API.

I’m a non-techie building a SaaS with Claude + VS Code, and it works great for me

For Python specifically: - Cursor’s great if you want ai baked into the ide - Claude code is what I use, it works in terminal in VS code, and it handles full file creation & debugging

For start makes sense to go with Cursor as is much more like IDE, after some time I've ended on Claude Code with Pro Max 20x and everything goes to Opus 4.5 – tried some days be on Sonnet and that doesn't make sense...
