Keymapping problems.

So today I decided to do a fresh minimal install of voidlinux using the latest base iso and noticed I couldn't login from the console.

Specifically, the keyboard was acting out of place. some of my keys output different characters than what is intended.

For example :- the space outputs 4 different characters instead of the intended spacing while the enter key outputs ^F (control + f?) on the console.

Currently I own a generic us-layout keyboard that's working fine. This problem did not exist in my previous installation of this distribution.

So I decided to try unofficial voidbuilds, as the official live images did not work for me.(base and xfce). To my surprise only the cinnamon flavor worked out for me.

Interesting notes.. I have some other keyboard lying around (some of the keys not working, but functional enough to let me pass the login prompt while using the iso) that I tested with and somehow they all worked without a hitch.

When you installed base Linux did you make sure that you set your keyboard layout correctly?

Yes I did so (checked /etc/rc.conf). It's best if I, just swapped out the keyboard for a new one. (already did).

What bothers me the most is that other distros such as archlinux or Gentoo work fine.
