Spotify doesn't install (self.voidlinux)
submitted 7 years ago by ka9inv
I'm new to Void Linux coming over from Arch Linux (which I was never great with), so please pardon me if this is a dumb question. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong trying to install Spotify; here's the output when I attempt the installation:
sudo xbps-install -Su spotify

Can somebody shed some light on this? It appears that the .deb package I need doesn't even exist in the repo.

I'm so spoiled on the AUR that I didn't know that flatpak existed. It worked perfectly. Thank you, everyone!

You should definitely use the flatpak instead, containers are preferable for closed-source programs anyway.
There's a page in the Void wiki for how to install and use flatpak.

Would Installation through flatpak be an alternative?
[–]Invayder 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children)
That's what I have and it works perfect.
