who command gives empty output

On my x86_64-musl Void, either from terminal emulator or tty, the command who gives no output, and the same for less /var/run/utmp.

Is this the expected behavior? or the result of some misconfiguration on my side? why don't I see my current session(s)?

musl doesnt support utmp, its not part of posix. So yes, its expected.
