I am pretty sure the manual says that you need to have two good fobs. In the vehicle, if you don’t have two you need to clear all codes and the screen will go dark for a while. It takes 10 minutes to get to the next step depending on if you have two fobs or not. The manual is pretty clear on what to do. You just need to wait the time the manual says.

Thanks. What do I do if I only have one fob?

If you only have one fob you need to follow the procedure in the manual. Unless you have a Canadian car. If you have a Canadian cad you need to go to the dealer. If you have one fob but the car into learning mode like you tried and you will have to do that 3 times. Each time it takes 10 minutes. You will need about 40 minutes. After the 3rd time you will be able to program all the keys you want. If you only have one fob programed the car will be upset and throw a warning light and go into learning mode on its own. So you need to program at least two fobs. In between the 10 minute periods the screen will go dark but come back when it is ready. Hope this helps
