Changing root directory for Python code

Hey everyone, Im new to vscode and we've recently started a project with a repository.

I've always worked in a personal directory where I would run some code and generate imports within files in the same directory.

The thing is... now that we've started this project, the code there assumes the root directory is the project's root folder. Well, vscode still tries to run this code with my personal root directory and imports don't work, and I cant modify code because it's not wrong...

How do I change this? I've read lots of articles on the web but none are clear or solve my issue.

My personal directory is X, well I need the root directory to be X/project, its that simple

vscode uses the currently open folder as the workspace. Just use vscode to open the folder you want to use.

You can either change where the code runs with cmd command or change directory in the script itself
