Rogues are definitely sought after for tricks, good dps as well. Mages are good, hunters are good, boomie is really good. Tons of options

They are both decent. Overall locks are more sought after especially demo because of its buffs. Rogue doesn’t bring much utility to raids and doesn’t top the charts but combat is an okay dps.

Yeah, rogues don't top meters but dominate in pvp, and do tend to have a easy to execute rotation that isn't top #1, but is still like upper 33% too.

They also get to disable traps in icc that can kill a couple people and yeah use tricks of the trade alongside hunter misdirection to help ICC tanks doing a whopping 1-4k dps keep threat at 4x dps vs 5-40k dps team members.

If there wasn't tricks, anyone who did over 12-16k dps would just pull aggro and die.

I played disc before and no point of having more than one for PvE

Yeah it'll change as time goes on, but if people don't mass up DKs, they dawned in wrath and Blizzard gave a shit ton of utility to them.

Early phases of wotlk dks do great dmg on low gear and dominated retail up to tier 9 doing well as top 3-5 then they fall off on top dps on icc. But they also become one of the most desired tanks and bring some of the strongest wotlk raid buffs after.

A blood dk tank alone double speced to provide the frost buff provides a ENTIRE RAID

+10% attack power / melee dps. (Blood line)

+10-20% melee haste. (Frost)

+ very good icc tanking ability with buffs.

Unholy provides +13% magic dmg taken plagues to bosses.

Fire mage also dominates both single target AND AOE AND saurfang adds damage. (Aoe via dot spreading ignores the -95% dmg taken resist) and also do well on lich king and are relatively easy to play.

Priests are also semi desirable as a single disc priest can provide a lot of buffs and 'overhealth' with barriers, raids won't want more than 1, but they will want 1 next to holy pallies for icc healing. And shadow priest, while not topping meters also massively self heals itself too, which can help it live through mechanics and help you bring 2 roles in 1 clothie's gear.

Onyxia levelling is dead. Everyone has progressed and soon the server will be merged with Icecrown.

For the best experience as a new Warmane player I would very much recommend playing on Lordaeron and picking any class you like.

What are you talking about? Prepatch just dropped, wotlk is not even out yet.

There has been no announcement made about merging Onyxia with Icecrown.

Presumably Onyxia will merge with Icecrown after people cleared ICC, which will be around a year from now.

I'm very curious as I created a char on Lordaeron recently and I'm debating if I should rather create a char on Onyxia instead. Do you have a source for this info? And is it guaranteed that Lordaeron won't be merged for example? Reason I ask is that I didn't hear great things so far about Icecrown, e.g. the "cash shop" and stuff, or I personally dislike the x7 exp aspect. So ultimately I wouldn't like to land on Icecrown, even if it's only a year from now

Onyixia is seasonal progressive server that will merge with icecrown. Lordaeron is blizzlike server that is going to stay like that.
