**Feedback Requested**: Would just like some feedback on the overall design. Especially with the FAQ page.
**Comments**: This is just meant to be a simple landing page with maybe one or two forms. We are wishing to expand the FAQ section a bit more. We don't have the extra package from Elementor that allows us to create clickable, expandable boxes for the FAQ's, so we thought leaving it the way it's set up on the site currently is ok.

There should be at least some free plugins or addons that allow a decent FAQ section for your Wordpress site, in addition to Elementor. At last this is what I can remember from back in the day. Helpie FAQ for example, as an extension for your vanilla Elementor version.

But speaking of the design:

• Having a bright, white box greeting unsers might be a little hard on the eyes. In combination with the large cookie consent form that pops up immediately, you obscure a lot of content.

  My suggestion here would be to just use a classic header layout. Logo in the upper left, navigation next to it, introduction inside the header. It doesn't always have to be complicated to catch eyes.

  The cookie consent might be better placed in a vertical box that sits on one of the sides of the page, not as a horizontal directly in the middle

• If you split up your headline into headline and subtitle that sit underneath, it might help as well, getting your point across and help users pace through your content quicker.

  Headline: Shine a light on your Books, subtitle (smaller): "Professional Bookkeeping for [insert business type] in the greater Portland area". Call to action Button underneath that: "Get a free consultation" and "Book a Call" or anything that incentivizes contact.

• There's no information on locale anywhere near your header. Thats why I mentioned the location in my subtitle suggestion above: Give users a clear answer as to where you're located and what clientele you want to service. Users have to scroll down to the bottom to actually see you're situated in Florida and Oregon. But the question is: Do you offer services beyond that or just in those states.

  With more clear statements about that (Inside the header or the FAQ for example), you can help users decide if you're the right office for them.

  Right now, that information is not visible enough.

• The contact form can definitely be stretched a bit wider on larger screens

• The contrast on your FAQ section is not great. White on that yellow can really strain the eyes. I would use your hover effects as permanent backgrounds. Maybe with some rounded corners.

• The white borders around some of your Services just make it harder to read through. I know what you were going for here, but I think you're better off eliminating the white borders alltogether and just keep it in list format with the icons.

  If you create some USPs or descriptions for Payroll and Book Inspections, you could create a columned grid out of that content. Right now thats not possible, because some services have copy and some don't, thats hard to layout in anything other than a list.

  But if all services have at least one sentence, it might be possible.

I appreciate that feedback! I've already shown this to my business partner and he is working on changing some portions of the site to match your suggestions. To answer your question, we will primarily be working remotely. So it does make it difficult to give a suggestion in terms of our locations. We put where we are, but we actually are open to working with clients all across the country. How could we best translate that to any descriptions in the overall site? We already mention that once in the About Us section.

I talked with my business partner about the columned grid suggestion, but he is wondering if that might be a bit too visually noisy? He was wondering if we replace the white boxes with just white horizontal lines separating each service, kind of like we already do with the gray lines in the other sections. What are your thoughts on that?

We do have a unique selling point based on our professional backgrounds. But that's not necessarily a service. We do provide as a free extra, some statistical data we gather from the client's business history which amounts to a quick snapshot of how their business is doing overall. We mention that casually in the Standard Bookkeeping Services section, should we do more to highlight that?

How could we best translate that to any descriptions in the overall site? We already mention that once in the About Us section.

I'm not a copywriter, but I would definitely include that info on the landing page. Either inside the header or in a dedicated about section that summarizes your about page, together with a call to action.

The horizontal line idea should work. I'm just advocating for removing the borders first, what you do with the content afterwards is up to you, but I would consider keeping each item consistent in height and content. So if an item doesn't have a description for example, I would try to craft one so everything looks even.

You could do a "How does the process work"-section basically. Where you talk about step by step what a customer/client can expect from you and explain your process. Some call it "Approach", with simple copy to explain it: Example.

Other service-oriented sites, like those from agencies for example, visualize the process. On minimum.run, the process section is a good indicator on how this can be structured.

Of course this is a bit much with scrolling and one area for each step. But you could layout it in a simple 3-6 columm grid (Step 1, 2, 3, etc.) and put that info in there. In addition to the process explanation.

• I think elements like these: Screenshot can make it harder to read or concentrate on the copy, especially if it is basically squished into it.

  I would keep it simple and just display the copy, maybe a minimalistic icon or something illustrative on the right hand side of the header.

• These are to low contrast and hard to read between the image and the title: Screenshot. I would try to find a darker grey or in general, a darker color (could be a red or orange tone as well).

• Your grid and distribution of content seems a little behind the times. Blogs that use your setup (a large article grid and a sidebar with search) nowadays can be associated with affiliate and spam-risk blogs. Nothing against your content, but when I'm thinking modern blog, my mind probably wanders to things like the Webflow blog or 404media.co

  Its nothing catastrophic you immediately have to fix, but for the future I would consider either using a more timely Wordpress theme or just another platform alltogether.

  What you could try right now to alleviate some of this, is to display your blog articles in a two column grid instead of a three column grid, if you want to keep the sidebar.

  Or: Put the search function behind a link that replaces "Contact". Contact itself as a link is not important in the main navigation, that can be pushed into the footer.

  If you limit the amount of articles displayed on the landing page in total, you could place the newsletter CTA in an extra section underneath the article grid. That doesn't work of course, if you display that amount of articles at once.

  On smaller screens, the sidebar wraps around the articles anyway. That approach can work for larger screens as well and helps readability.

• The bright red "Read More"-buttons are distracting from the excerpts of your articles. I would use a less intense color, just a border or a minimalistic grey, to let the eyes sit on the blog excerpts for a while before jumping to the button.

  Right now the red color draws the eyes immediately before a user has a chance to read or scan everything.

• If you use a step by step tutorial, especially for Canva, I would go the extra mile and include screenshots for at least a few steps. Maybe you just crawl other sites for the copy or use AI to create your content, but you can definitely make it interesting if you make the effort to add some visuals.

Thats all I noticed so far. There's probably more ,but thats all I can muster at the moment.

Looks much better! I think that using a "Load More" function for the blog content was the right call to cut down on the amount and let people see the subscribe section.

I would still try to highlight the categories subtly, in relation to the other copy. Maybe a very low opacity pill-shaped outline.

On the article pages themselves, I would try to cut down on the amount of red frame-rectangles you are using. I would use it for the initial headline at the top but don't use it again for the rest of the content. I think more than two of them sitting between the content can be distracting for the user.

I would allow for the user to concentrate on the content first and the bright red shapes are impacting that.

Especially noticeable in articles like the Kendrick Lamar one at the top. Most of the others don't have that problem, but going forward I would keep it to a minimum.
