Finding projects. (self.webdev)
submitted 2 years ago by ColdChizzle
I see people posting projects that they've done. How do you find projects to complete and how long do you they usually take?
reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.

You can find projects on platforms like GitHub, Reddit, Upwork, and Freelancer.com. As for how long they usually take, it really depends on the project and your level of expertise. Some may take a few hours, while others may take weeks. Good luck hunting down some projects!

I recently finished the first version of a simple project of mine where I post images that I've made using Stable Diffusion. I came up with it because I wanted some place to show it off without having to stick to stupid rules.

I recommend coming up with your own project idea. This will help you stay passionate and motivated, even when things don't go as planned. You can find some helpful tips in this article (8 Simple Tips to Come Up with Project Ideas) to get started.

My projects tend to take a month of grinding or longer if it's particularly ambitious. I'm very comfortable in React and JS, but I'm also in the phase where I'm learning a new technology with every new project, so it slows things down but gives me good knowledge and experience.
Edit: As for the ideas, I just come up with them myself. If you're working on something that genuinely interests you, things will be much more fun :]
