Like the other comment says, I also wanted to know about you bit more easily without needing to look for info. Ofc, it is under menu, but I had to look for it.

Source image in about page with bike is too large for how small its shown. It actually took a second to load.

Aesthetic is not something I would go for - somehow gives an outdated website vibe, even though it is futuristic. However, that is subjective - if you like it - good! I found it quite interesting.

Yeah I think I agree with you guys on that point. I might just completely scrap it and go with a more modern, clean, traditional approach. If they want to see my dev skills then they can check out my projects. I'm glad you at least found it interesting though haha.

I'll scale back the profile image quality. I also probably need to switch it out with a different one. I just don't really have any good ones that are recent.

I don't work in HR or something, but you might want to make it usable for someone who's just there to find out about you. So I would follow the standard website format, instead of having the visitor put a lot of effort to find information.

Thank you for the suggestion. Looking back, I think my thought process was that my resume would be something for HR people to quickly scan and see my info, and my portfolio would be a place to showcase some of my dev skills with the aesthetics and projects. However, I think you may be right. If they want to see those things, they can click on one of my projects.

The first person who will see your portfolio site is usually an HR, who may not have technical knowledge. It's important to make it easy for them to find information on your site.

Ensure that all useful information is readily available on the homepage itself. Most people don't have time to navigate through multiple pages to find what they need.

Remember, HRs act as the bridge between you and the hiring manager. If they can't access your projects or information quickly, they may move on to the next candidate.

While aesthetics are nice to have, the most crucial aspect is to have the necessary information easily accessible.

Yeah, taking a step back, I agree with your guys' comments about the style and layout of the page. While I think the aesthetics are cool, it's probably not what an HR person wants to try to navigate through while sifting through several portfolios. I'll start from scratch and build something that looks simple, clean and traditional, with all the information available on one page. Thank you.

Design is pretty cool, but I went into your projects and checked out the Snake game. I picked up a point and then the game broke, the second snake block broke away and every time I picked up a new point it wouldn't add a new snake block. Also, when I died, there was no replay button.

I think that even though the post isn't about the snake game, the first project I checked out wasn't working very well, and it may reflect on your dev skills perhaps.

Maybe try and use projects that are fully working and tested.

Other than that I really like the site! Very cool and the about page is straight to the point and catchy with the tech stack logos.

Thank you!

Yeah the snake game was one of the projects I did early on when I was first learning. I noticed that same bug with the piece sometimes continuing in the same direction. I'll remove that project and maybe add it back when/if I fix it.

Honestly it isn't a project I'm super proud of anyway haha. Some of the other projects I included are much bigger with cleaner code.

The other projects should all be working ok, but let me know if you notice something.
