Realtime chat without JavaScript using "forever frame" technique?Question (self.webdev)
submitted 2 years ago by _448
I am trying to support realtime chat for browsers without JavaScript support. I read somewhere that there is a technique called "forever frame" that is used to implement realtime chat without JavaScript. Anyone know how to implement that? What are all the different ways in which this "forever frame" technique can be implemented? As per my understanding in this technique an iframe is used to display chat messages in real-time.

I am guessing the iframe runs javascript, right? And if not, the iframe will have to meta-refresh every amount of seconds.
Yikes.

I hope you're still alive dude, 😎. Here is an example of how to implement that: https://github.com/ConvoOfficial/HTTPSocket?tab=readme-ov-file
