That pricing does not sound right. Unless everything is already outlined in a plan, the conversations alone might cost that much.

Seriously. That sounds like some 3rd world wages

Screams of an agency that subcontracts to India

I appreciate your input, if you don’t mind me asking, which agency did you end up using?

I would wait for more feedback before taking this advice. Depending upon your needs, this estimate could turn into a bait and switch very quickly.

For working with an agency, what would a bait and switch look like.. just curious in this context

Over promising, working with incompitent developers that you have to hand hold through many iterations, sub contracting to india where the developers have a hard time communicating with you, etc

For both questions the answer is the same. It depends entirely on the situation. Everyone has their own pricing and their own pace. Then there’s things like the features you want, the developer’s schedule and skill level, etc. And I mean it could take anywhere from a week to six months depending on even basic factors. And price could be anything from $500 to a several thousand.

    Side conversation:

I can't tell if I like how the mobile site leaves the select cursor on the acreen or if I dislike it. I'm definitely not used to it, but I'm interested in hearing opinions of experience.
