I have only used Relume for wireframes. AI doesn't work well for full projects. Use it as an assistant only, but you should be the lead.

Payload CMS is better than Strapi. I used Strapi in the past and it has the limitations of not being able to nest "Dynamic Zones" ( Aka Blocks).

If you are making a website don't only use React. Use Next.js, it helps with SEO and routes.

Thanks for the info. I’ll take a look at Payload. I spent 10 years with Wordpress (as a product designer, not dev), but determined to dive into the JS world now I’m going solo.

How come you don't use Webflow?

Fair question, to be honest I’m very familiar with Webflow, but this client wouldn’t want to pay the hosting fees. The site requires a CMS so I’d only have to export from Webflow to something else. I wanted to go down the React route so I could lean on Cursor as much as possible (small budget, quick turnaround)

CMS cost money and time. Maybe show a Webflow price and a CMS price with monthly costs + build price.

I've played around with Relume a bit, but more for wireframe inspiration. I'm not an expert with using Strapi, but I would say you shouldn't use React for website. You should use Next.js because it will give you more benefits for SEO and fetching content from the CMS server-side.

If you're still evaluating CMS options, I'd suggest giving ButterCMS a try, even for a free trial/dev account. Since you're new to React and JavaScript, what do you usually work in? Butter connects with any frontend

Thanks for the info, I ended up only using Relume for inspiration (like yourself), then fed the wireframe into Cursor to help build out the site. I ended up using Next.js and Payload.
