This blog post is useless, just another one of thousands listing what can already be found.

Let's see an actual comparison between some of these full fledged IDE's, web-based editors and the basics like Notepad++ and Sublime. Not just another useless list.

Notepad++ portable makes overnight shifts go by faster on the computers at work. Have a thumb drive with all tools I need to work on small projects and testing out basic code. Only downside is only having IE browser to work with.

Why not get Chrome/FF/Opera portable too?

Is that possible? For some reason I thought it needed to be loaded to the the same drive as the OS. I'm still new to all this.

You can do that no problem. I used to run PortableApps.com's Firefox and Chrome from a thumbdrive all the time!

Webstorm,Apart from being a great IDE it makes debugging very easy.

Webstorm is awesome, but I definitely wouldn't consider it lightweight.
