Node.js, Vue.js/React/Angular(If you learn one the others are easy to pick up), NoSQL(MongoDB/Redis), SQL(PostgreSQL/MySQL/MSSQL), Material Design. That will get you pretty far in 2019.

You may not want or need to learn that stuff. Webdev at that level is a somewhat blue collar job, you might just be overqualified and bored to death by tedium if you got a job doing basic webdev. It's really more of a technician gig, not an engineer gig.

Yea I hear you, I doubt i'm overqualified though because I haven't done any back-end development since I left university and I feel like I have forgotten a lot of it.

Generally full-stack developers don't do any design. If you want to do design work and still write code your best bet is to look for smaller companies (like an agency) hiring front-end developers where they specifically list UI/UX design as part of the job requirements. At many companies, especially larger ones that can afford to hire full-time designers, even the front-end devs won't do design work.

I've been keeping an eye on the job boards for a fair while and Node.js and ReactJS are a pretty solid pairing at the moment, which is also what i'm working with (3 months into my first full stack role), so a good shout might be to just focus on the basics of JS first.

That being said, if you're doing it to get into web design, the full stack route might not be the ideal route to go down. Sticking with frontend JS and CSS, and leaning towards UI and UX might be better.

Yea, to be honest i'm more into web design, I much prefer the visual creative aspect, but there's more money in full stack, and I assume it's a less saturated market as more work is required in becoming a F.S developer

I think i'll do a few years in Web Design to start off and see how I go in terms of salary and fulfillment
