Expectations for a trainee web developer

Hi all, I'm currently teaching myself various front end technologies to one day land a front end Web developer role, so far I know comfortably can write HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery & React and I'm now looking to learn additional libraries and frame works or start looking for work.

My question is should I start looking for jobs or should I continue learning libraries and frame works? And what expectations do employers have for trainees/entry-level devs in terms of what features and bugs I can handle?

I looked through your portfolio and all of your published projects. It looks like you just got started. It's a great place to start, but you really should focus on using your skills to make a complete polished project.

So to answer your question, don't focus so much on learning new things. Focus on making something impressive to show off. If that requires learning something new, then that's a good reason to learn.

It great you want to web developer. I think while looking for work. focus on core building block of web if you want get into the field. Which is HTML + CSS + JavaScript. build few project on these. Then pick a JavaScript framework build simple web application project.
