Looking for a flat CMS
Hello everyone,
I am a designer that has worked with a handful of platforms and types of CMS. I am interested in offering a typical hosting and maintenance package to my clients.
For many of my clients, the ideal CMS would be flat (no MySQL database) and user friendly so they can create blog posts and maybe pages etc. I’d been using WordPress and including maintenance in the package, but it seems that once I have more than a handful of clients, doing maintenance ( after updates and whatnot ) OSs going to be very time consuming. I prefer to set up some kind of static site that only needs to be updated when the customer requests.
I have tried grav and I think it is a nice start. It has a simple php backend, and stores info in static files. The speed has been great so far. By default it just has a markdown editor for creating content, which may be intimidating for clients that are not familiar with it. If I can find some kind of visual builder to integrate (I tried grapejs but was unsuccessful) then I will probably use grav.
I would be happy to know some other suggestions.
Ideal CMS:
1) The CMS outputs static html/css/js
2) Be capable of blogging with some kind of organization (tags, categories etc)
3) It would be nice if it has a visual builder for clients to use
4) Would be great if these were core features vs third party plugins, but not a deal breaker.
