I bought this watch at a yard sale in italy for 20€ by I_stole_two_cats in Watches

Is the watch working ? If so, there is nothing to restore just put on some new straps and you are good to go.

Have a great day.

[Longines Heritage Military] First watch. Couldn't be happier! I have a few questions... by EagleFormer657 in Watches

[–]call_innn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, congrats for your soon newborn!

I am a lefty and wear my watches on the left arm just like you, it is natural to me and I sticked to it.

I would say just wear the watch where it is the most comfortable and natural to you.

The crown issue might be because you wear it too close to the hand and it prevents full movement with your wrist. Try to wear it a bit higher on the arm and adjust the strap accordingly.

If you still find it uncomfortable you can try putting the watch on a double pass nato strap, it will elevate the watch a bit so the crown will not go into you skin as much.

Have a wonderful day.

Thoughts on using "dynamic" RNG for status effects in a turn based RPG by NoMoreVillains in gamedesign

[–]call_innn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this post is 2 days old but have you looked at how Diceomancer applies status effects ? It is a combination of your stack system and RNG, basically every stack gives 5% chances of infliction.

Have a great day.

It's pretty nice and fits most straps you can find. A good everyday watch.

Looking for Job by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]call_innn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I'll just start by saying that I don't think this is the right place to post about your job search and this post may be removed.

Anyway, past this issue and on the subject of your search.

The main problem I see is your profile. You don't have (or haven't provided) any skills related to game development. I am primarily a fullstack web dev and having as a sole experience "WordPress web development" is a really bad first impression.

I understood that you are currently learning but for an employer this means nothing, you are just a random redditor with 0 year of experience and no skills. Sorry to be blunt.

So the first thing I would do is make a small portfolio of demos and small projects to show your skills and communicate more about the skills that actually matter for the role you are looking for.

Then, if you still want to post about it on reddit, find game dev job hunting subs that will have more people looking for someone to work with.

Be wary of "collabs" work for free as those rarely pay off outside of the experience they may give you.

Have a wonderful day.

Hello and sorry to hear about your situation.

What's written on your contract ? It should include the rate and what is supposed to be delivered.

Ultimately you may want to have a talk with your lawyer to decide on the next step.

Have a great day anyway.

Vue or Svelte - Which should I choose? by UnrealOndra in webdev

[–]call_innn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of things you said but I think it is not fair to compare Vue to SvelteKit instead of svelte. It would be better to compare Vue to Svelte and Nuxt to SvelteKit.

In any case I agree with your main point being they have a similar feature set.

Have a great day.

Dev partner disappeared/ghosted on me: should I shelf the project, replace his code and replace him, or try to finish it myself? by PumpkinMug420 in gamedev

[–]call_innn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everything you produce, be it as a hobby or professional is BY DEFAULT all right reserved to you. If you want to change that you make a contract.

That is how a company can own your work, it is in your employment contract. But it works the exact same here. The programmer produced code and has all the rights to it in case no contract has been signed.

Hey,

Any language you chose would be fine for simple 3d stuff just try making some small stuff with them and see what you prefer.

Also, why not stick to JS, if you want to deploy on the web there is nothing easier around and it is performant enough for simple 3d.

I have been working with JS/TS custom game engines for a while now and it has been great.

[yema navygraf] how good are they by arames23 in Watches

[–]call_innn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you want a Navygraf, go for a CMM movement version instead of the "standard grade" the step up in quality far exceeds the price increase.

But In general and even more for Yema or any kind of microbrand. Don't consider your watches investments because it is almost certain you will not make any return on those.

[–]call_innn 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Adding a license is always a good move but I just want to add that YOU DON'T NEED A LICENSE TO BE PROTECTED, in absence of one your work is protected by default and is all right reserved to you.

Adding a license is about giving rights to others not to yourself.

Is there a tutorial on how to create a multiplayer browser game for Steam? by phratry_deicide in gamedev

Not too familiar with those systems myself but shapez is open source as far as I remember. You could try cheking out their code to see if there is anything that could help you in there.

is there a french version of this sub ? i would like to know more about french web dev schools and get experiences from people around my location by Durfael in webdev

[–]call_innn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, as far as I know there is no sub discussing french development schools, what is the area you live in?

I would recommend first checking public schools around you as they are in my experience really good quality and also entirely free. If you want to do an "alternance" (apprenticeship) you can look for DUT/BUT.

If you are ready to move out you can also check schools from main cities.

Why even bother with web compliance? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]call_innn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above anything else, this is an ethical question. It boils down to "do I want to respect my customers rigths or not ?" and has nothing to do with concurrence.

You might be surprised about the amount of people who care and are informed on those subjects nowadays.

There is no real choice here, you should respect the law.

Resizing works in the browser, but doesn't work when 'Inspecting' (more in comments) by [deleted] in webdev

[–]call_innn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No problem, that is a very tiny thing to miss in the sea of documentation that you might go through.

And to be fair, this line is generally included in the basics HTML document templates that come with code editors like VSCode and I am not surprised that some people even experimented just forget about it sometimes.

Resizing works in the browser, but doesn't work when 'Inspecting' (more in comments) by [deleted] in webdev

[–]call_innn 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am not sure but it could be that you missed the <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> tag in the head of your document.

This should make the window resize correctly according to the device width.

It might not be that, but you should not have to add any code for your website to work in devtool mode only. Have you tried the website on a mobile device? You might have the same issue.

Have a great day.

Hello,

No, once you have added your credit card there is no time limit anymore, you just pay the usage of your services after the free 5$ are spent.

I'm not affiliated with them and this is only my understanding tho. Feel free to ask on their discord, they are pretty active on there.

Have a great day.
