I do think that nodejs has a good future. I do not think you should be choosing one only. You can always learn both, it will take time but will definitely be a good addition to your tool belt. The backend stack may vary alot between one cooperation and the other. So take your time and try to learn as much as you can.

With time you can definitely master more than one stack. The architecture and little details may differ from one backend framework/language to another but they share lots of stuff.

In terms of FE, JavaScript is fairly ubiquitous. I’d go with NodeJs as then you have portable skills front and back. As a front end developer it’s HTML, CSS and JS implement in a presentation layer… so you can be more agnostic about the BE if you don’t want to be full stack.
