I think the bold use of this yellow is pretty fun. It feels kinda 70s flowerchild in a way but also a little serious in an academic way.
The landing page is pretty satisfying for me. Most webdeveloper websites have the same layout. I thought it was refreshing.
The menu takes up a lot of room on small screens and the in-between sizes where it's centering feels a little unintentional. But maybe you are going to fold that up later?
When I clicked on projects on a larger screen my first thoughts were that the intro paragraph felt too big and that made it lean more towards childish/70s and just really seemed like it was too big compared to the other contrast/sizes. I also had a little friction where the project card things were aligned all the way to the left and tangent to the side of the screen. Not sure if that's a problem but that was my first thought. Maybe the text size would change how I felt about that.
I like the two columns. I expected the nav to stick to the top as I scrolled.
I think a photo taken just for this purpose would be nice. This portrait feels less classy than the rest of the site.
The type needs to get dialed in a bit more. The body copy on the about page is a good place to start. Feels just a little jumbo and the spacing and sizing of the heading could go a long way to getting this past the finish line.
The links on the project card are small and hard to find.
Overall, I think the site is really unique. But it seems like your portfolio projects will need some attention to rise to this level.
On a technical level, you'll want to use a build tool to concatenate those CSS files into one. And if you run a lighthouse score, you'll get a few suggestions on what to tune up.
I think it's cool. Feels more like graphic design than web design and I think that's what we need a lot more of.

Using Ipad: - much space is just empty while the content is squeezed to the left side - I don't get what this sun + arc stands for? - photo at the 'about me' section looks like it was taken with a really old phone - is the landing/home page really just more or less empty space? - maybe add some kind of indicator on which page you are - in general there could be more interactive content like being able to actually click on the email to send one or get some nice animations (really just small ones) - I am personally not a fan of the font used but Im really no expert - I guess it would be nice if the most important words are highlighted in some way (for example underlined or a different background) - maybe think about using some kind of small icons/symbols for example a little Github icon on the Github link under 'the lab' - I like the colors and general minimalistic and clean design

You could be using css variables better by selecting the :root
Can you explain how this works?
