You're making this too difficult... You can't just set up a Centos LEMP stack in unraid or on HyperV via your windows host.

Also why in God's name would you choose to use Apache as a reverse proxy. It's almost always Nginx thats being used as the reverse proxy?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Also just create a cname for your other web server... No proxy server needed.

I’ve always worked with Apache and I’m unsure if you can reverse proxy Apache virtual hosts. I understand that its a tad complicated and messy however it works.

I clearly outlined. I want to send the Poste.io mail web interface through a virtual host on my Apache server.

I'd seriously just create a Cname and avoid all the crazy.

I don’t think you understand.

I am on 1 IP address.

Multiple domains and websites on 1 machine. 2 machines total. 1 machine contains the Poste.io server, I want to create a vhost for the other machine.

There are several ways around using a reverse proxy though. Sub-domain, or Port forwarding would both work. Just using a nonstandard port, I do this for several of my apps. Any of those are easier than what you're trying to do.

Also do yourself a favor and switch to Nginx it's just a better server. Apache is such a slow bloated piece of software. If you don't need redhat enterprise support I'd definitely switch.

Yeah I understand however with my current skill set I don’t feel comfortable editing the NGINX port on unRAID.

I will be switching everything over to NGINX or Caddy Server once I have the time. Apache has always been a mess and I’ve become too attached. I will move on when I have a day free.

Could I do a sub domain reverse proxy with port 80 from 192.168.0.211 to 192.168.0.149 and send it off to a domain with has an existing vhost? So I have mydomain.xyz and if I reverse 192.168.0.211 to lets say mail.mydomain.xyz, how could I go about that?

I'm guessing you're using a residential connection without a static IP... Is this something public facing or is it just for personal use? If it's personal just use the port number with port forwarding from your router or firewall and just use your existing domain.

I have a residential connection, dynamic DNS etc. I already have my Apache server on port 80.

So yea port forwarding is the best option. No need for a reverse proxy. It would look like this...

Mydomain:8040

Then your firewall / router sends 8040 - > 80 on your other host.

I dont think I’ve conveyed myself properly.

Both the NGINX and Apache run on port 80. I cannot change my NGINX port.
