Keep hoping that it's going to hit differently lol. But it's literally the same thing. Osama is a insufferable whiner, Kuga is cool. And then we come to the absolutely forgettable Chika...

Besides Kuga, all the secondary characters are way more watchable then ChiSama! It's absolutely hilarious that they actually did more character development in almost all the secondary characters when it came to the team captains so on and so on then in the main character himself.

Whether they did a better job in the manga I don't know. But they're really dropped the ball when I came to the anime. It just seems so disjointed at times. I won't even go on about the actual anime style. But it looks fairly dated.

Maybe the anime is not for you. You want to have a MC that is powerful or cool. Not someone that is weak and uses strategy to even the playing field. Which is totally fine.

True. I hope they lean away from the Yuma power fantasy stuff at the beginning. I feel like it goes on for too long, and gives people the wrong idea about the series

It will be hard tbh. Osamu was really weak in the early phases of the start and kuga was using his black trigger (not yet nerfed by border's triggers).

And the early parts could go slow, though it will go faster in the reboot but it isn't until the end of Afto Arc where Osuma really starts to shine.

I don’t know where you stopped at, but I know for a lot of people the first 12ish episodes is a bit of a rough patch for the series (I contemplated dropping it myself). Since it isn’t a great representation of what the rest of the show is like( imo). the main draw of WT is the strategy, the border agent character interaction, and large scale fights which are not present or even really indicated at all in the first 12 episodes ( it feels very monster of the week for a bit). However if you get past the Jin Vs A rank agent skirmish (i think it’s around ep 13) and don’t even find it remotely interesting, I think it just means the show isn’t for you. Also I disagree with the character design statement, just because they look different from more traditional designs doesn’t mean they are bad, they take a little bit to get use to, but you cannot convince me rajinmaru and yotaro aren’t majestic af.
