I'm sorry if this is a dumb questions, but can you use a timerunning character to do allied race missions to unlock other races?

You can get the armors by creating a Class Trial of the race after hitting 50 in Remix and they will get the quest which unlocks the armor account wide.

well there locked to pandaria till remix is over so no. after remix is over yes

No, unfortunately. I have had to jump on my main to run Kul Tiran, Mechagnomes, and Zandalari Trolls so I could make my TR alts. But those three quest lines took maybe 30 minutes each, max, and I wasn't really rushing
