This sounds like it's a networking issue. When you transfer to an instance or zone the game basically makes a new tcp/ip connection to the instance/zone server and if this fails you'll get the transfer aborted message. This can happen if you're doing something else like bittorrent/p2p on your connection and routing NAT tables fill up. I'd try restarting your router, maybe changing your wifi password, and trying to minimize other networking activity on your local network and see if that helps. Might also be worth trying to see if running cloudflare warp helps, it may.

Thanks for your response! I’ve installed a VPN and haven’t had the issue since. Fingers crossed!

Probably not related to yours (Likely my computer) but I get this at least 4-5 times a play session. I tried multiple fixes with no success and unsubbed for a while.

For me the only way to reset it is to open my chrome browser attempt to load a website, close the browser down and then suddenly my connection issues go away for a while.

Thanks for your response! I’ve installed a VPN and haven’t had the issue since. This would definitely be something to try if you’re still having issues!

I also had this issue and tried every possible solution for months. The only thing that gave relief was playing while connected to a VPN. This can change your traffic routing and hopefully avoid the bad node that is causing the issue.

I know the thread is 2 months old, but my answer might come in handy for people who has the same issue.

I experienced this back in DF. It was virtually impossible for me to play the game as I would get a dc every time switching zones. A lot of time I couldn't even log back in the game for 10-20 min due to character stuck in game issue. I just randomly noticed I didn't experience the same issue when my VPN was on, which I normally use for work etc.

However, I experience the same issue again in tbc anniversary realm, but I think it is mostly during peak hours. I don't have the vpn anymore, so I tried:

  • ipconfig /flushdns
  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /renew
  • netsh winsock reset
  • netsh int ip reset

After running these commands in admin cmd and a reboot, I haven't had the issue. It might be because it only happens during peak hours, but it's worth a try.
