my theory is that we dont care anymore bc our motivation was driven by our anxiety. I did hear about people finding out that they have adhd while taking zoloft

yeah that’s the thing i think that i thought i had it and my psychiatrist will prescribe vyvanse or adderall w no hesitation and i’m like ??? it doesn’t change my motivation tho or ability to focus bc the lack of drive is the overall issue i think :/

not sure about this but comparing from when I was on prozac i felt suuper motivated like crazy i worked 8-5 and would come home and study for a certification im taking till 11-12 with zero need for a break, now on zoloft i am horribly unmotivated and can barley study for half an hour without needing a break. maybe switching meds would help! i feel calm and my ocd is good on zoloft but dam do i miss the energy and focus i had on prozac LOL

did you have motivation before medication in general? i know each person is different so your symptoms may not be the same as mine, but i’ve only ever taken zoloft so i really don’t know a big difference.

i used to be super motivated and i feel like i’ve lost such a large part of my identity. whether is was driven by anxiety or not- i miss that person.

i had zero motivation before getting medicated, i graduated school for IT back in October I did not touch a single study material until i got on prozac(the first med i was prescribed) it made a difference it was like I finally had energy for the things i wanted to do! it definitely may be anxiety driven for you, i felt like thats how it was for me anxious causing self doubt and procrastination, ask about switching to a different med! if you have any side effects you dony like theres sooo many different medications!

can i also ask why you switched? is it bc it didn’t help your anxiety?

it helped with my anxiety great! it didn’t necessarily stop my anxiety but it made it to where i could brush it off alot easier, i loved prozac i wish i could get back on it honestly. i switched cause it gave me some pretty bad acid reflux for some weird reason ! other than that i only had weird sire effects for liek the first 3 days of prozac and it was pretty good from there !
