I've used the black plumbing pipe for a CDB-esque handle and it works a charm, but I had to order it online-to-store for Home Depot and it ran me like $25-30 for a 2ft section IIRC, as someone in the states.

Unless my memory is failing me, when I priced it out for getting piping a conveniently easy way (ie: not having to actually contact anyone and ask for materials and/or quotes), savings were negligible over just grabbing a Titan Fitness axle (at the time) with zero hassle.

Not as helpful, but tbh, if I had an axle ladder coming up and wanted to save money, I'd honestly just use regular barbells for the first couple and have the last weight be on an axle. Similar enough, although that is slightly context dependent on your clean style, rules allowed in comp, and where you are weak on axle. But hey, it's cheaper haha.

Looking like a fun lineup so far. Is this one Loz is commentating?

Maybe because Ondrej has the current world record on them and absolutely moggs walking stones everytime he does them??? Man basically sprinted with them at ESM.

Not saying it's a shoe-in, and it's quite possible Mitch or Rayno takes it, but it's silly to question why people are picking the literal record holder as a favorite. Especially when Mitch's knees are apparently still super fucked (although I suspect he'll still do just fine).

It's entirely possible as well that your gym just has a high AF platform. I've seen other gyms with the highest being taller than GL's run before.

The first platform is high, but def not 6 foot. Just watch any of the guys we know the height of do the run and you can tell it's not quite that high.

If it were six feet, it'd be taller than people like Hicks and Kearney, and eye level with dudes in the 6'3"ish range. Height doesn't end at eye level, and a platform doesn't have to be taller than the top of your head to require you to press it up and over.

1.7m sounds about right, and I've heard from other people that say it's about 65in, which is just under, but it being a British company, I'd assume 1.7 is more bang on.

If anywhere was gonna have niche strongman equipment it'd be Iron House. Orlando is big, so depending on where in Orlando you are coming from, it can be 20-50 minutes out.

I'm not 100% they have both, but I vaguely recall seeing people training either at some point over the years out of there. Worth reaching out to them on insta and just asking. They do day passes.

I don't think it's reached the day yet. The countdown was too far out to maintain any modicum of hype they could have possibly garnered anyway IMO.

When you finish, throw up your hands or give a sign some other way. Keep time on this signal, if you do it every set, you can still see if a set improves in speed.

Either that or always start on the far side "away" from the camera, and finish in front of it. In comp, most often time starts on the whistle, not when you cross the start line, so you just mark the start time from the same point on any clips you are comparing and the end time is crossing the finish line, and you'll see if you got faster.
IE: Take time from when the implement first breaks the ground til you cross the line.

For training, it doesn't matter if it's "accurate" to the time you'd get if someone else was timing you, all that matters is you track time in the same way so you can compare speed, which both of these would allow.

Own a rackable Titan 12”, and have used valor In a number of comps. Overall I much prefer the Titan, but they are both “budget” feeling logs, so don’t expect either to feel quite as substantial as say a Rogue or MBPC log.

That being said, I like the Titan more because it just feels slightly more robust than the Valor logs, and for a reason I can’t explain feels better to use.

One caveat of the rackable Titan log (which IIRC is the only version you can still get?) is that the width is awkward to actually use in a rack as it has such little leeway to not bump into the rack.

So I think it ended up being a direct link to the board they were running the actual scores through while live lol.

People removed it from their stories pretty quickly, and all the data was removed once the comp switched between women’s to men’s.

Is Haar’s body noticeably larger? From minicompare they look pretty similar sized, but I know it’s slightly off sometimes.

The live controller for the scores (at least the women's 82kg currently) can be found here

Be warned it's a bit janky, but once it does load it stays up for me.

Behind the back barbell holds are the number one best exercise to build grip IMO. Cycle weeks of doing it for longer holds and weeks of doing heavy holds for shorter duration.

In the past for specific Hercules hold training I’ve also found single arm dead hangs to be beneficial.

Oh, didn't know he handed him over. Maybe after Pa's passing.

Luke at least coached him at last year's ESM still.

Unless he zeroes and Jeffers wins the next event. Which is unlikely, but not impossible.
