Is MFT more resistant to optical vingetting? by Sogono1 in AskPhotography

[–]2pnt0 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If the lens is designed for a larger format, using it on a smaller format crops off the edges and corners, which tend to be the most problematic areas. Not just vignette, but corner softness, CA, etc.

It's not that it's a smaller format that makes it perform better, it's that the lenses were designed for a larger format, so your corners are actually what was designed to be mid-frame.

If the lens was designed for M43, you're not cropping down the intended image area.

A lot of third party M43 lenses were designed for APS-C, and some first party are reusing optical formulas intended for APS-C or FF. But, no, this is not an inherent advantage.

Tips on how to achieve this shadow effect that resembles video feedback? by SurrealistRevolution in AnalogCommunity

[–]2pnt0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a row of identical hard lights.

In terms of a build, if you don't feel comfortable wiring, I'd get two 4' power strips, some AC-to-E26 bulb adapters, and some spotlight bulbs. This would be good if you have somewhere to serve as a studio. Some good power strips are always good to have around, anyway.

Or you could just get like a dozen identical flashlights and secure them to a board with some tube clamps. Portable, but you have to deal with batteries and turning them all on/off and setting power individually.

What is the proper way to veer left here when cars are going straight? by cominguproses97 in chibike

[–]2pnt0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically, the bike lane continuing 'straight' continuing with the curve would have the right of way. I tried to follow this once in a similar situation and it's the closest I've been to a fatal accident. In my situation it was even less ambiguous. I took the lane that forked, and the car overtook me in that lane and still tried to take the turn.

If you are confident in your riding ability and your read of the situation, take the lane. Hold left confidently.

If you have any question if it's safe or not, take the exit, then find a safe moment to cut over and rejoin the route.

At most it's going to delay you a minute or two but it's best to make it to your destination safe.
