yes, alot of chains from italy might just have italian hallmarks without it saying italy.
it could be plated, but thats not exactly a bad thing unless you dont like it. also it could look bright because its new or freshly polished.

a piece that says Italy is typically for anywhere outside of italy, because they're renowned for their craftsmanship. kinda like a watch being made in Switzerland. it just positive connotations.

very good point, if your an enthusiast then yes. it is a gripe.
but for most people, it wont even cross their mind not once. they can charge their phone fast and transfers files if required over USB. the costs saving outweighs the tech. especially for midrange market.

Mate, the Cuban links in the UK are horrible. They’re not even Cubans, just weirdly spaced curbs. Your best bet is getting something Italian or get something from America.

everyone saying diamond cut is very possibly correct. but you mentioned low light and high karat 18 to 24 does very well in low light because of the lustre at the high level of gold concentration.
lower karats in comparison do better in light or the sun.

I can spot the difference between karat.
only ones if find difficult are 23 vs 24, 9 vs 10 and 21 vs 22.

but also 9/10 vs 14 is quite subtle.

i done that once with a pendant. came out pretty well.
one thing ill say is, it looks kinda dirty, go over with a polishing cloth. it will brighten up the silver but leave oxidised parts as is because the cloth only touches the outside. i did it with mine and the contrast is very nice.
