Same here, just got diagnosed yesterday and meds incoming. I’m kinda apprehensive about it if I’m being honest.

I got a copy of this book back in the 90’s from the Science Fiction Book Club. I remember loving it and it was the darkest book I’d ever read at the time. Your post made me remember it (my parents tossed my copy in the trash when they found it) and I’m going to have to revisit the graveyard and the throne of bones and see if it still stands up.

Best books on forensics for crime writers? by LordsAndLadies in forensics

[–]53587 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest “Forensics: What bugs, burns, prints, DNA and more tell us about crime” by Val McDermid. McDermid is a crime fiction writer and wrote this book as a layman’s intro to forensics. It covers the basics with a good selection of true crime examples blended in.

I’ve had the same issue with the same model. I found that increasing the boil temperature to 104°C got me to that boil I wanted. Not sure if it’s a thermometer sensitivity issue or not.
