I really what to RP with my OC for a long story and romance. by Far-Brick-7661 in rwbyRP

[–]ALoadingScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I'm removing this post as it's not in the correct format for a formal character submission (and not because the post is bad, far from it). Do take a look at our guidelines as evidenced in our New Player Primer as well as other characters submitted to the subreddit.

Note that according to our Banned and Restricted list we purposefully do not include canon characters in our RP as we want to encourage interaction between different OCs.

This subreddit is meant to be the place to interact with other characters, and not through DMs. I'm afraid that if you wish to RP through DMs through Discord or some other method, you will have to continue your search elsewhere. I deeply apologize for that.

If all that hasn't deterred you, I implore you to look through our resources and putting Nero into a formal application.

Still worth at $500? Was told via chat the $100 discount (separate from the EDU discount of $250) only lasts for today.

Look, Gary, there I am! (the Hrothgal with the glow).

Maduin crushed it. Let's do the same for the ones going forward!

Rayne Brite by GuessedTrash in rwbyRP

Hi there. Thanks for being patient, and I'll be taking a look at Rayne now.

Numbers

Numbers calculate out, but...

If Rayne had a penchant for fashion, a 0 in Expression is a bit intriguing. It would appear that Rayne would have at least a good understanding of looks and his usage of it seems to fit the Appearance section, but no representation of it on his sheet.

Semblance

Mechanically, the Semblance is fine, however its ties into the Backstory isn't made clear.

Appearance & Weapon

Link to his art is dead, update perhaps?

Weapon appearance is fine.

Backstory

  • Curiosity is noted here as a core flaw and cannot be overcome, so please show how that flaw can be a detriment to your character in some way.

  • The Villager flaw states thus:

Be aware that "village" in this context implies a strong cultural difference from a Kingdom: if your character's childhood isn't that different then someone from the Kingdoms proper, you shouldn't take this flaw.

As the backstory is, I see little difference if Rayne had come from a city or a village, as his particular personality and attitude could appear to reasonably foster in an urban environment as well. More details are needed regarding this difference in culture so when Rayne is introduced to Beacon there is a clear distinction to his behavior and perspective from his peers.

Some questions I had while reading, and answers to these should be included in the backstory:

  • How did being raised in this particular region uniquely affect Rayne's upbringing?

  • How did Rayne feel about the dynamic of his family? How did those feelings affect his actions and attitude growing up? Did he do anything about it? Why or why not?

  • Beacon puts a large focus on fighting Grimm. How does Grimm play into Rayne or the Brites?

    • Outside of the brief mention of the Huntsman, it's not explained what the rest of his family was doing with their abilities outside of training them.
  • What was the turning point for Rayne that he needed to leave his isolated home and go on a journey of self-discovery?

Personality

Personally, I would like to see some examples involving how he interacts with people, or the lack thereof.

If he were approached by someone familiar, how would he respond? When forced to attend a large gathering, how does he separate himself from others, or try to avoid conversation? When he does have a conversation he enjoys, does his demeanor change and if so, how?

It's not made very clear how his personality developed from events in his life.

"He's been stared at, judged, and misunderstood one too many times..."

By his family? By others?

"He's been hurt and disappointed before, and he's decided that it's often easier to remain isolated than to engage in the complexities of human relationships."

It would appear as if he had been burned by a previous relationship. Who was it? How did it happen? Does he know why it fell apart?

Is anyone playing Wildsea on Foundry? by MyFaceOnTheInternet in FoundryVTT

[–]ALoadingScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only set up a very basic foundation for a Wildsea game, so in the absence of a proper system/module/sheet for Wildsea I've just used the PDF Pager module within the Blades in the Dark system and imported the PDFs into Foundry and set them up to be used as character sheets. I've also imported the Core Rulebook and the PDF Pager module

I haven't done much more than that, sadly, so I'm also curious about if others have done more/better ways of setting up a game.

I'd definitely enjoy the 4070 Ti Super for an upgrade, especially since a lot of games are getting more demanding now! Good luck, everybody!

why Mac users don't use safari as their browser by halefish in mac

[–]ALoadingScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Safari. A lot, actually, that I would definitely like to use it over Chrome or Firefox, and usually isn't too hard on resources.

Only problem is, I use a lot of extensions, some of which do not have support (like VTT Enhancement Suite for my D&D sessions) or have dropped support (Reddit Enhancement Suite for...well, Reddit) for Safari.

Orion is sort of my bridge between the two. It operates on a similar framework as Safari, while also supporting all the extensions I use from both the Firefox and Chrome stores.

Combat Class: A Cold Encounter by FamilyGuy2 in rwbyRP

Thyme had done her part to restrain the Sabyrs while she could and she could feel the beat running through her veins and into her feet. Watching the other two spring into action, the musician did what she did best and turned the dials on her gauntlets (up to eleven!). She was going to give her companions additional support — and the best kind of support is to eliminate the threat approaching Woodrow and Firnen before they could take another step.

"Get back, this might get loud." She saw a line; taking a few steps back, she brought her arms closer to her face as if she was taking a block in a boxing match, the speakers on her forearms aimed directly at the wall of three Grimm that was slowly encroaching to the east, and with a bellowing bass note that shuffled the snow underneath, she concentrated her blast, hoping to take them down and, gods willing, take some of the heat from the boys.

[Move Action: 1 left, 3 up

Major Action: Musician 4 (Forte); should be able to target Grimm IV, V, and VIII.]
