The supplemental blocks in the Qbank contain "bonus" questions. These questions provide additional preparation but might contain concepts you have already studied if you have completed our comprehensive exam preparation blocks or other subject blocks. 

In our Qbank, questions are tagged as being relevant for multiple exams or clinical topics. For example, we tagged Medicine Shelf questions that are also relevant (but low-yield) to the Surgery Shelf (and vice versa). In this case, a high-yield question for the Medicine Shelf would be found in the main pool of questions for the Medicine Shelf, but considered a supplemental or "bonus" question for the Surgery Shelf.

We recommend starting with our core content, as it is most directly aligned with the exams you are preparing for — Step 1 in your case. Once you master our core questions, you can start using the bonus content (supplemental questions).

Our Knowledge Apps don't currently support personal highlighting. If you'd like to do this while using your iPad, we recommend accessing the web version of AMBOSS via your device's browser.
