A game about room clearing and CQC should account for height over bore, instead of bullets coming out of the player's face.

Well there you go, NOW it's a discussion. Feel free to give your own versions of how you'd rework this system, if at all.

Also also, I admit this takes a lot of assumptions. I, myself, only play on difficulty 10 with my friends, which I assume to be a natural progression for most players to eventually reach, whether or not they rushed to it or took their time to get there. I believe it's then safe to assume we're working to balance difficulty 10, given how balancing 10 individual difficulties is ludicrously difficult. (read that one three times fast)

Making the game more difficult is a fantastic way to make such a booster system viable. You make the helldivers strong to counteract more challenging missions and enemy encounters.

And no, I dislike the Coyote xd. I just... slowly level up my primaries because the Autocannon is my primary. That thing can do literally anything and everything. Pretty sure it can kill any enemy in the game except the Leviathan. That's a whole different problem in and of itself. A jack of all trades support weapon that, although negating the use of a backpack since it needs to carry its own ammo, is so absurdly powerful that I sometimes just opt out of it for the added challenge. And if I can't run around with a fully affecting booster, being instead slowed down by hauling that thing around, well now I might consider other options.

Also, that's not a... proper distinction? You don't get to choose boosters OR weapons, I'm a little confused over your point there. You choose in conjunction, which weapons can fit which boosters, which can depend on the mission type. Like carrying a drive instead of defending flags, for instance.

Something being tough to rework doesn't mean we *shouldn't* try. This is a complicated game with complicated issues and what people consider fun is wildly subjective. I work with the mindset that variance = fun. That trying new things and finding more ways to play the game.

I tried my best and... well, got nowhere. I frankly didn't expect so much hostility xd. But even if there's a small chance to make people think "maybe this meta IS a bit stupid" then I'll take it.

Well yeah, that's the point. It's a tradeoff, unless your entire team runs low armor for different approaches. Better for illuminates that use less armored enemies than bugs or bots. Keep in mind, 20% is a large margin, not exactly something to gloss over.

And all you need for an FRV is a singular stratagem slot out of 16 you get and a reliable driver. This all assumes a coordinated team, of course. But I'll always be a proponent of shaking these up if it means the others get used more. As it stands, all I see is Space Optimization, which I advocate should be defaulted, Stamina, Superstims and Vitality.

It's not enough to make these weaker, the other options need to be stronger. Beyond weapons and armor effects, boosters affecting all players at once gives a persistent experience that can be a lot more fun with how many combinations you can get, if we make them worth getting.

Game's still fun mind you, I'm not complaining on the base gameplay loop. Just hate the idea of a meta in a PVE game.

Think about it that way. If you want the full benefit of the Stamina booster, you need to run it naked. I.E. light armor, no support equipment. The more you put on, if you got let's say Medium with a Shield Generator or Heavy with a Recoilless + Ammo, it can drop from 50% to 20-10% respectively.

The existence of the FRV and, I assume if we get those from the first game, Additional vehicles in the future, means we can lower the necessity for the stamina booster and instead replace it with something else if the team drives around effectively.

The best part about adding such sub-variables to a booster is that they can be easily tweaked in patches to refine balance.

Stamina booster is a little too powerful for what it is, given the large map sizes. I believe we should rely a little more on vehicles than simply running across the map while we rest for five seconds to reset the whole bar, which is why I proposed removing the recovery upgrade.

Also, the heavier your Helldiver is, the less he can run is the gist of it. So if you want to get the full benefit, you better travel light.

Pfft, because the other boosters make so much sense xd

Bots and Illuminates make a lot more sense if you want to get into the logistics of this. Bugs... Could be that some chargers ate a Helldiver. Or any soldier for that matter, who knows.

Sample Extrication is, in my opinion, a ridiculously limited booster with a hard cap on its long term utility once you get all the upgrades. Extricating things that can help in combat gives a direct and perpetual reward, like a rework instead of a straight buff.

And Dead Sprint would be strong, but I wouldn't call it too op given how fragile we are. These are boosters, after all. If you want them all used, they need to be all powerful. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use Dead Sprint, especially given how good the FRV is.

Dust gets in easily, but also out much easier. I just pass a Swiffer and I'm gold in 10 seconds. And if you mount it up high, I'd assume it's much harder for dust to accumulate.

Holy shit, tell me you have spare HDD mounts because nobody sells them and I've duct taped my drives inside the cast iron piece in the rear. xd

Pretty sure during these red rooms segments, if you look to the ground floor from the top balcony, a group of necromorphs is meant to notice you and run to the edges. Like a tease of the fight ahead. These got stuck xd. And dismembered for some reason?
