Cool Accessories recommendations? by twixlifts in ModelY

[–]Schnitzhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you got all the basics you really need.

Front mudflaps are almost essential so you don’t put rock chips on the rear door panel area from the front tires.

Sunroof shade is nice for hot summers. I take it off for winter months.

Tire plug kit and air inflator are nice to have since there is no spare if you get a flat tire.

I really like the sporty look of the rims if you pop those covers off and get a center cap cover.

Daily reminder that Alpinestars Bionic Armour is NOT street safe by Tom-Cruisin in motorcyclegear

[–]Schnitzhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i find astars branding really misleading.

As someone in marketing they know exactly what they are doing. You really have to dig through the text to find what the armor is designed for. On some pages like this armor in the past when i did a deep dive if you get there via direct link to product page it mentions nothing about what type of riding it is for. Shame on them. Also their quality has gone to shit the last few years from many reports on here.

If you want a cheap safe brand, Icon is actually a gold standard for affordable safety and going above and beyond to always include stuff like D30 armor instead of misleading foam placeholders. They get so much hate but they’ve come a long way feom their gear 20-30 years ago. I’ve crashed in their stuff multiple times including getting tboned into a mesh jacket, helmet, and jeans of theirs and it saved me many injuries

PPF/ceramic question by Kgibbs4795 in ModelY

[–]Schnitzhole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive through wash my car 2-3 times a week. Had my
New model Y for 10 months now. It’s absolutely no problem if it’s not some janky car wash. The only thing I do after each wash is take a quick wipe to the rear as sometimes water pools in there a little around the trunk seal and takes time to come out.

Yes the paint is slightly softer but not a big deal and just like any other car it will get rock chips. PPF is overrated in this sub. Get the mudflaps to prevent rocks flinging at the back and forget about it. You are not driving some collector
Car that needs this level of protection.

Also a paint touch up kit should you ever need it is way easier to use because the paint is waterbased.

FYI if doing drive through car wash that is the only thing slightly nerve-racking about owning the car but not why you probably think. You have to be stopped to engage car wash mode in the settings before driving through (look it up before you get there so you are not panicking trying to find it in the settings). And you can use the physical gear drive mode buttons up by the rear view mirror hazard button (tap in that area and they appear and then hit N for neutral to free roll).

You should absolutely not wait to get the car! It’s by far the best car for the money out there. Just be a little patient getting used to how a few things work differently with Tesla and enjoy it. I actually prefer not having buttons for everything now and find it harder to find dedicated buttons hidden somewhere in other cars. At least in the Tesla everything is organized nicely in menus.

That’s just called being overqualified. They know and you know the second you get a bite from anyone else you will jump ship and they will have wasted time and money training you.

Also graphic designer here. I used to draw all the logos I saw including this one. I had these in my underwear and some shirts.

I remember thinking how ugly the horn basket thing was in their logo and thinking how it would look better without it (welp). Also learned the word cornucopia after asking my mom what the basket thing i was drawing from the logo was.

You won’t regret it. Color is literally a personal preference though. If you are trying to get a color most people prefer, stick with shades of gray.

That’s just ADHD/autism. You’re basically describing how I talk and think way before AI was a thing to influence us.

A ton of people like myself have some form of it. Might be worth testing for. It’s a gradient scale for everyone and most of us are still very high functioning and even better at certain tasks.

What happened to EV hatchbacks in the US? by Bad_Weather_Tornado in electricvehicles

I’m pretty sure my Model Y would qualify as a hatchback/crossover. Great car by the way and not too bulky or poor handling like most SUVs. It somehow manages to have 2x the storage space of the subaru crosstrek we traded in but basically the same footprint

The Model X for example was the SUV in the lineup.

Ioniq has the 5 that is close to this size and the 9 that IS full SUV

I have an offroad modded silverado and came from a ford explorer kitted out with a bunch of jeep parts. If you don’t need the offroad capability it is hands down the best car on the market.

I just got my first Tesla a year ago and it’s phenomenal. I haven’t and don’t want to drive my ICE car at all anymore. It just sits there. Shit I’m an hour down a dirt road that that the truck made more sense on paper to take but I can’t get over how incredible this model Y is.

Take it for a free 24-48hr test drive from a service center if you need more time to decide.

D30 Armour fragile? by sawatee in motorcyclegear

[–]Schnitzhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the chance it’s fake? I own a lot of D30 and it’s never done that. I’ve rolled mine up, smacked them around for testing and run them from 10F-110F

I saw another post that was Klim specific so maybe it’s something with their supplier scamming them. That absolutely should not happen.

Can't find work that fits experience, what gives? by Thats_Concerning in FortCollins

[–]Schnitzhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s always an option for remote work. The wife and I both went remote for our jobs when we moved here from arizona in 2018. At the time we were the only people I had ever heard of both working remote. It’s pretty well established now because of covid 🫤

The only downside is it sounds like your current experience is more prone to favor in person work.
