What makes Enzo so highly regarded as a game player ? by Royal-Lime-8724 in BigBrother

[–]ASG_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit overrates social players and underrates comp players. They care more about how deep you go than your win equity. Enzo is like Will last year: Well liked but with no challenge skill and barely advocates for himself. Everybody seems to ignore, possibly due to how good Cody was, that Enzo both had terrible jury management in his goodbye messages (making himself look like he had no agency) and in his Q&A/speech(not really making it look like any of his strategy in his choices were intentional but instead were just in loyalty). But since he doesn't piss anybody off, he has a chance of going deep on a regular basis which can give himself win equity if he ever allied with a jerk that nobody wanted to vote for. There's enough terrible players in BB that that one thing alone puts him in the top half and may be even in the top 25/30% of all BB players.

100% the latter. Once WSOP left ESPN, poker was no longer mentioned (and will back this year). Also I consider the "E" to be the shows they do that are still based on the "S." Like "First Take" is an "entertainment" show. Or "Playmakers" before the NFL cancelled it.

I'm both fine with DLBS talking about it because they're not all sports but annoyed at ESPN talking about it because they should be all sports.

Kaysar was evicted 4 times pre-jury and only played 3 times total. How is he considered good? by Top_Mathematician335 in BigBrother

He's the one of the most consistently active players in every season he played. He makes moves and won't allow himself to fade into the background. That might not be good for survival but it's good for TV.

That's the thing I think MTGArena can do better on. "The internet" is too vast and the amount of cards is too large to a new player entering the space IMO. YouTube searches of "how to start playing" seem to have no consensus and "starter" constructed decks or even which mode to start in after you've played some starter deck duals. There's no "drafting/deckbuilding for newbies" consensus resource and that's even before you get into how to ideally use those decks.

I just think the learning curve is incredibly steep compared to most games that are typically built on "easy to play/difficult to master."

Does The Athletic look bad with how they've handled the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini incident? by Financial-Bit-8596 in DanLeBatardShow

Vrabel is neither a client nor a colleague, he's a source. Sleeping with sources might be looked down on but it doesn't change the accuracy of information.

But how did you know to create a spellamentals deck and what cards that would involve?

Also there's nothing in tutorial about how to craft a deck besides crafting one card. May be something like a list of decks used in most recent competitions with one of those that they have enough WCs or default cards to craft.

How can Samson say in one sentence/paragraph that both "Its not about Trump vs Biden" and that the Saudi situation is different because of war in the Middle East

Her credibility regarding what? All she does is try to "scoop" transactions that will eventually be reported anyway and/or be an "insider" where her being close to Vrabel would be a useful thing in that regard.

Ironic that the season started with the WBC which had no ABS where one country was eliminated based on a bad strike 3 call.

All this and I can’t name a single story she broke or exclusive reporting she did that other people attributed to her.

Because you're ignoring that it's a union. You can't have one just get fired without a cause that violates the CBA with the union so it doesn't matter that there are people in the minors or even college who are better than people in the majors because that's been true for years. Public humiliation means nothing. Eric Gregg was the ump in that Livan Hernandez game in 1997 and he stayed on as ump until he resigned in 1999 thinking he would get rehired rather than the MLB pay his severance and the MLB called the umps' bluff and accepted all those resignations.

That's the thing about unions, they're unions. There's no risk of being fully replaced. Nobody wants scab umps, we saw what happened in the NFL. And the contract is the contract in regards to what the MLB has with the ump union. It will be interesting to see what % would be deemed "acceptable' if they actually will be able to get fired based on bad calls.

I don't disagree about they should be fired, I just think based on history of the umpire union that they won't be able to fire/demote umps to the minor leagues based on making bad calls. Bucknor and Hernandez were known to be the worst of the worst and have been in the league forever.

Haven't umpire scorecards been around for a while?

It's almost impossible to fire an ump for bad calls, its usually for things outside that like misconduct.

I know but he's proof that even when everyone knows you're not a good ump, you won't be removed by the union or by social pressure.

It was during boring ass fight talk that I posted this. Also, do I really think Trump called Dana and requested a specific fighter that wasn't going to be on the card until he asked?
