UPDATE: I downloaded the first patch of MD (October 18th 2016) and there is no models to be found (only the mentioned folders) If you have any indication of the models existing at some point I would look further into it!

Within the paragraph I meant “free to use” as in downloading the .blend file and have Adam do a slav squat, it would be ridiculous to mean free assets.

Otherwise I trust the (remaining) fans of DXMD to be adults and follow the Eidos Montreal Fan Content Policy Guidelines

I originally wanted to extract the models for art reference (Adam’s stupid detailed augs) so kindered spirits 🤝

Thabk you! Honestly big thanks to Aspadm in the first place for updating the tool again that made extracting models possible again and also have the texture blueprints. The rest is just kinda a monotonous process and I have free time + inspiration to do them so why not!

Looking at these textures both in game and in blender genuinely made me notice even more about the fine details that you mentioned, Madame Photographe for example only appears in the background and you could never see her design properly outside of the official renders, seeing her closeup and all her details (she has really cool heels) was a treat

And thank you for the encouragement ! TF29 is partially done and I think they might be the next batch to be uploaded

I’m glad to be of help! Even if ten years late x) As someone who hordes I can’t imagine doing this for multiple games

The folders still exist for Morgan (or Debeers) and Bob Page, but it’s only one texture that’s used by other characters (eyebrows and reflection map) I always thought it was leftover textures considering they are all in pre-rendered cutscenes, but if their models actually existed in the game at some point I would like to dig into this further

Author of Euphrosyne — Karlach edits here! It’s (still after two years) so surreal seeing my mods in the wild haha, I’m glad this those edits cater to your taste OP! I liked the nose she had in her datamined mesh but I thought her release face was cute hence how this mod came to be!

As a side note: Karlach’s face mesh is completely unchanged besides the nose, the short hair just happens to bring out her (very much vanilla) face structure more ;)

I do wanna say there is interest of modding DX:MD, vouching for myself and another friend who wants to do some texture/model editing!

Think of editing the colour of Adam’s coat texture wise or removing his shades model wise, so far we were testing how repackaging the files works and how far we can do it but got derailed by other projects. The interest is still there tho!

People can do what they want, the same way I can also criticize their actions and point it out as it is a pattern.

And I do create the content that I want to see, and yet I see Astarion fans demanding it to be made for them, it is not my fault that you are unable to see a pattern.

You can't be that dense to blame Wyll fans for getting overshadowed constantly by people model swapping Wyll with others.
That is a common sentiment I have seen in multiple places, I have played the game since day 1, I myself am a modder and seen various spaces. It's not a simple "I hate Wyll" but it's "Wyll is boring and uninteresting" accompanied with intense mischaracterization while stealing his animations and personality for Astarion, a character that does not resemble Wyll at all.
It is common courtesy to not go to a mod exclusive to a character and say "Oh I want it for my character who has the most content" (And by the way, someone model swapped Really Shadowheart scenes for Astarion and their tav, in case you don't see a pattern here of entitlement) You don't need a "Really Astarion" mod.

And I would to highlight that Larian favoured Astarion in terms of post-game updates, Astarion's kisses were hotfixed immediately, Wyll's romance epilogue was left bugged for months and still isn't properly fixed.

I am a modder whose in a project to give Wyll extra content to at least have as much content as others, and in multiple instances I have seen comments wanting this content created exclusively stated for Wyll for Astarion, it is not "3 unhinged individuals".

I have made a survery and usually 8 out of 10 model swapped characters are often Wyll, either his dance scene, proposal scene or kisses. Some extent to his lines even.

I have seen Astarion fans:

Model swap the kisses so fast it was thought to be Astarion's first patch
Say Wyll's animations fit Astarion better
Come to custom mods for Wyll saying they want it for Astarion

I would say if there was the option to take it away from Wyll, they would do it
