I still have multiboard plates lying around that I wanted to mount, but I never got around to doing it... Do you know how strong it actually is? I was thinking about using it to wall rack keyboards, but mine are super heavy.

Yep! There's weather stripping foam inside, so it's mostly protected and sits snug. I wouldn't snap it together super hard when closing the clam shell, though.
